SSS implements number coding nationwide

The Social Security System adopts the number coding scheme and modified service procedures to handle transactions in 61 branches all over the country enable to prevent the spreading of the novel coronavirus.

On a statement by SSS President and CEO Aurora Ignacio, she has signed the SSS Circular No. 2020-017 which will limit few walk-in proceedings such as application for SSS number, getting the Unified Multi-Purpose Identification (UMID) cards, and paying the loans and contributions on their several offices.

There will also be a weekly schedule wherein the current members and employers can have their respective transactions with the state-run agency.

It will be based on the last digit of their ER identification numbers or social security as follows:

  • Tuesday – those ending in 3 or 4
  • Wednesday – numbers that end in 5 or 6
  • Thursday – numbers ending in 7 or 8
  • Friday – those ending in 9 or 0
